MuscleTech has expanded their SX-7 series with the addition of Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx. Interestingly enough, Black Onyx appears to be a new subset of the SX-7 series, with MuscleTech planning on releasing additional supplements to this Black Onyx line.

Hydroxycut has been making waves for a long time among the fitness community. Naturally, Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx caught my attention real quick.

Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx Ingredients

From first glance, Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx’s ingredients look pretty impressive. Also, there aren’t any proprietary blends, which is a plus because we can see individual ingredient amounts.

Here’s a quick look at what I discovered about some key ingredients in its formula:

Green Coffee Bean Extract (200 mg) is the highest dosed ingredient in Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx. Green coffee bean extract is often used to speed up the metabolism to improve weight-loss.

Another big ingredient is caffeine anhydrous (145 mg), a very popular stimulant used in several other weight-loss and fat-burning supplements. It’s used to improve energy, focus, and speed up the metabolism.

During one study, overweight individuals supplemented with coleus root extract, a well-studied ingredient found in Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx, 2 times a day for 12 weeks, and researchers noted improvements in hunger cravings, fullness, and even fatigue. [1]

Yohimbe bark extract (20 mg) is a popular fat-burner that has been studied in both obese and lean individuals.

MuscleTech also included some ingredients to improve mood, one of which is the amino acid l-theanine. This ingredient has been researched for its ability to promote relaxation. [2]

The ingredients look solid. It looks like long-term supplementation of Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx has what it takes to enhance weight loss and improve focus and mood.

I got to try out Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx for a short-period of time. I didn’t notice any instant weight-loss effects, but I did feel a steady energy boost and some mood-supporting benefits, although they were somewhat mild.

How to Use Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx

One bottle of Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx provides 80 servings –each serving consists of 1 capsule. According to the manufacturer, users can take up to 3 capsules per day, once each before breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

However, I recommend starting out with a smaller dose to assess tolerance, especially if you don’t take caffeine well. One serving provides 145 mg, which may be a lot for some individuals, let alone taking 2 additional capsules. Once you have assessed its benefits, you can increase your serving size.

You shouldn’t exceed 3 capsules in a 24-hour period. To optimize your results, you should supplement with Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx for an extended period of time to give the ingredients time to take effect. Also, you should couple supplementation with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Final Thoughts

One bottle retails for around $60-$70. Depending on how much you can get it for, Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx is worth checking out. However, keep in mind, if you need to supplement with 3 capsules per day, one bottle will last you about 26 days, which can get fairly expensive.

That being said, the ingredients are effective and potent. If you don’t respond well to stimulants, you may want to check out other fat-burning supplements. But, if you take caffeine well, and you are willing to shell out a little more for quality ingredients, Hydroxycut SX-7 Black Onyx is worth checking out.
