FitStrong Supplements has come out with its own pre-workout supplement, PRE. It is designed to amplify energy and strength without causing a crash effect.

I tried out the Strawberry Banana flavor, and here are thoughts on this pre-workout.

The Formula

FitStrong PRE offers 5,283 mg proprietary blend of several different ingredients. Here’s a look at some main ingredients:

Beta Alanine is the first ingredient in the blend. This amino acid is used to improve workout performance and combat fatigue. Bodybuilders supplement with this ingredient in an effort to maximize the number of reps/sets performed.

Another ingredient supplemented with to improve power output and muscular endurance in FitStrong PRE is betaine anhydrous, also referred to as trimethylglycine.

To bolster focus and energy, caffeine anhydrous and caffeine citrate are also included in FitStrong PRE.

Yohimbe Extract containing 98% yohimbine HCL is the last ingredient listed in FitStrong PRE, leading me to believe there is less of this ingredient than any other ingredients in the proprietary blend.

The ingredients in FitStrong PRE look impressive. The only bummer is that all the ingredients are in a proprietary blend, so it difficult to know if they are all dosed effectively.

Flavor And Mixability

One benefit I’d like to point out is that FitStrong PRE doesn’t come in basic, overdone flavors. Rather, FitStrong PRE comes in 2 flavors: Strawberry Banana and Wild Apple Berry. I haven’t run into these flavor names before.

The strawberry banana flavor was pretty delicious. I mixed one scoop in to 6 oz. of water and shook it for a couple seconds. I noticed very little settling –the mixability was good.

Overall, I’d give it a solid 2 thumbs up for flavor and its mixability.

Is FitStrong PRE Safe?

FitStrong Pre contains a couple stimulants in the form of caffeine and yohimbe. It doesn’t help, either, that we don’t have specific ingredient amount information.

So, if you are a novice to pre-workouts or just don’t respond well to caffeine, FitStrong Pre may be a little much for you. However, you can always start out by assessing your tolerance and taking half a scoop or even smaller.

If you have tried other pre-workouts with caffeine and such, you should be fine.

Should You Try It?

I definitely noticed a little boost of energy during my workout. I also noticed I was able to get a couple more reps in during my sets without having an overwhelming burning sensation.

Overall, FitStrong Pre is a good pre-workout. It is a little expensive, however. One bottle provides 30 servings and retails for $60.

The price may be the breaking point for some. But, just considering the ingredients by themselves, FitStrong PRE is an effective supplement.
