Synedrex is the newest fat loss supplement from Metabolic Nutrition, a company that has been manufacturing high quality supplements for many years. When I was handed a bottle of Synedrex I was really excited to take it because all of Metabolic Nutrition’s supplements are backed by scientific research. Let’s take a quick look at Synedrex and the science behind this new fat burner.

What is Synedrex?

Syndrex is a physician formulated weight loss supplement that promises that you will “experience the difference in one dose” [1]. There are four major issues that affect most people’s metabolism. These are deficient calorie burning, low energy, poor carb assimilation and hunger (cravings). The physicians that formulated Synedrex set out to solve these problems by using some of the best ingredients that have been backed by clinical research. So, what are these ingredients and is there research that backs up the claim that Synedrex is the “most powerful one dose daily thermogenic” that delivers 12 hours of “fat burning energy and power”? [1]

Synedrex Ingredients & Research

Methylxanthine – Methylxanthine, or caffeine, is a stimulant that can provide that extra energy you need when working out. Not only is it going to give you a quick burst of energy, but it may also help to boost your metabolism and take calorie burning up a level.

Synephrine – Synephrine is a great supplement because it supports a fast metabolic rate with minimal affect on heart rate or blood pressure, unlike caffeine and other stimulants. Not only does Synephrine imporove your energy and fat-burning during your workout, it also helps fight off food cravings.

Green Tea Extract (50%/35% polyphenols) – Green Tea Extract a natural source of the polyphenol EGCg (epigallocatechin gallate), a catechin flavonoid (bioflavonoid), that supports weight loss by increasing energy expenditure.

In a randomized double-blind, controlled parallel multi-center trial consisting of a 2-week run-in period and a 12-week treatment period tested Green Tea Extract’s mechanisms of action. Healthy young men who took green tea containing a total of 150 mg caffeine and 270 mg EGCg per day in divided doses burned more calories and fat than those who took only 150 mg caffeine daily.

Sulbutiamine – Sulbtiamine, or thiamine disulfide butyrate, helps support razor sharp focus, jitter-free energy, and an enhanced sense of well being. It is known for providing sustained, crash-free energy.

R-B-Methylphenylethylamine – R-B-Phenylethylamine is related to amphetamines and is thought to raise blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Beta Phenylethylamine HCL works by raising sugar levels and the blood pressure which gives you a feeling of contentment as well as being more alert.

Beta Phenylethylamine HCL is also called the “love drug” because it has been shown to cause pleasurable, aphrodisiac effects. Beta Phenylethylamine HCL is naturally found in chocolate which gives it its aphrodisiac properties.

1,3 Dimethylamylamine – 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, or DMAA is an organic geranium extract that has been proven to be and effective stimulant and popular ingredient in diet supplements. Recently, DMAA has come under heavy attack by the FDA and they have taken a strong stance warning consumers not to buy dietary supplements that contain DMAA.[2] The FDA has also asked supplement companies to stop making and selling supplements containing DMAA. [3]

Yohimbine – Yohimbine comes from the bark of a tree that is found in West Africa. Yohimbine is one of the most popular fat loss supplements because it is designed to support your body’s metabolism and fight the storage of unwanted fat. It is a staple found in the majority of fat loss supplements.

ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) – Alpha Lipoic Acid, or ALA, extracts important nutrients and energy from our food and other supplements. This is known as nutrient partitioning. As a nutrient partitioner ALA provides support to everyone who wants to build muscle or lose fat.

Simmondsin (extract) – Simmondsin is a chemical component of the Jojoba plant. Simmondsin is a natural appetite suppressant that has been shown to be responsible for the reduced food intake in subjects [4].

Update: I am hearing rumors that Synedrex has been pulled from shelves and is being reformulated because the current version contains DMAA.

Synedrex Final Thoughts

Synedrex contains some pretty good ingredients, but these ingredients are commonly found in other diet supplements. I am excited to see what will replace DMAA in Synedrex. DMAA is effective, but according to the FDA it carries some health risks (so do gummy bears and multivitamins… I’m just sayin). If you are on a calorie restricted diet and have a good exercise plan, then Synedrex may help you lose weight by boosting your metabolism and curbing your hunger.

This is one man’s opinion. What really matters is how well it works for all of you. Please use our form below to share what your experiences have been with Synedrex. OMG this stuff is STRONG!!! My doctor had me on the highest dose of Phentermine and I dropped 35 pounds in 3 months but after that my weight was pretty stable with a pound or 2 loss a month so my doctor took me off the prescription strength suppressant for 2 months to readjust my tolerance. I decided to try Synedrex on my off month and this stuff is wayyyyyyyyyyy stronger than I expected. It took my appetite much like the medication did but it literally made me feel like my heart would beat out of my chest for most of the day. I am on day 3 and I will DEFINITELY not recommend anyone take this every day!!! I have tried Stackers, Hydroxycut, etc etc but this stuff is a lot stronger. I have lost 6 pounds in less than 1 week with very minimal exercise but it isn’t really worth feeling like this all day for me. SO to each his own and please be careful!!!
