Like Augustus Gloop at a chocolate factory, the Hydroxycut brand continues to gobble up market segments.

Between Hydroxycut pills, instant drink powders, and gummies, I’d thought we’d finally seen every conceivable iteration until these new Hydroxycut Drops were announced.

I think these do have a lot of potential though, and are going to be a serious competitor to other liquid water enhancers like MiO.

How Much Weight Can You Lose?

Hydroxycut Drops

The formula consists of just two ingredients─ green coffee bean extract and caffeine, both of which have research to support their ability to help with weight loss.

A study published in the journal Obesity Research showed high caffeine intake is associated with weight loss via thermogenesis and fat oxidation.[1]

Green coffee bean extract’s benefits come from a compound called chlorogenic acid. One study examined chlorogenic acid’s effects on 16 overweight adults with a BMI greater than 25.

The subjects supplemented with either 700 or 1050 mg of chlorogenic acid every day for 12 weeks. At the end of the study, subjects lost an average of 18 pounds, including 4.4% of their overall body fat.[2]

These have 200 mg of green coffee extract per serving, so you’re going to need at least 3 servings per day to get near the dosage used in the study above.

Taste and Availability

Hydroxycut Drops
Hydroxycut Drops is launching with a fruit punch and mango flavor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few more flavors in the works. Like most things that are sweetened artificially, be aware that both have sucralose.

As far as taste goes, there’s definitely a nice “Choose Your Own Adventure” aspect to these and other similar flavor enhancers─ you can put in as much or as little as you want.

Neither are overly sweet though, and I thought the peach mango tasted fantastic. Additionally, both flavors dissolved completely for me, so you don’t have any graininess or residue to worry about. Most places are selling Hydroxycut Drops at around $6 for a 14 serving container.

Will Hydroxycut Drops Make You Jittery?

There’s 50 mg of caffeine per serving in here, which is roughly half the amount of caffeine in your average cup of coffee. Caffeine sensitivity varies widely from one person to the next, so just make sure you don’t add more caffeine than you’re comfortable with.

Are These Drops Worth Buying?

Not only is Hydroxycut a household name, but I haven’t seen any other water enhancers marketed for weight loss. With how popular these types of supplements have become, I think this new flavor enhancer will easily go gangbusters.
