VPX’s new pre-workout Redline White Heat is causing reactions from people on par with a Game of Thrones wedding episode. I’ve either seen or heard several people hail it as “the next big thing,” comparing it to Craze by Driven Sports and Jack3d by USPlabs.

After hearing so much about it, I had to find out for myself if Redline White Heat lived up to the hype.

Redline Nation

Like other pre-workouts and fat burners, supplement formulas in the Redline product line have often been an unintentional revolving door of ingredients thanks to bans on ingredients like DMAA. Since White Heat does appear to have some pretty decent ingredients, let’s hope they’re here to stay.

One of the ingredients that’s getting a lot of attention in here is theacrine, an alkaloid structurally similar to caffeine. Theacrine is linked to quite a few benefits, and reputedly acts as an analgesic to reduce pain, has anti-stress effects, and boosts activity through adenosinergic and dopaminergic signaling.[1]

The most popular ingredient in White Heat right now is probably the 4-Amino-2-Methylpentane Citrate, a compound which is basically a substitute for DMAA. The 4-Amino-2-Methylpentane Citrate reputedly boosts focus and cognitive ability, boosts metabolism, and helps reduce body fat.

You’re also going to find hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate in here, a modified resistant starch that increases endurance and boosts resting metabolic energy expenditure.
A couple of the more well-known compounds in here are yohimbe and evodiamine. These compounds will boost thermogenesis and increase your body temperature, so be prepared to sweat more. They will also naturally boost your metabolic rate.

Not For the Faint of Heart

If you’re sensitive to stimulants, be very careful when dosing White Heat. Each 1 scoop serving has 400 mg of caffeine.

As someone who’s not very sensitive to stimulants and works out first thing in the morning, I went for a full scoop. I didn’t feel jittery or like I wanted to run through a wall or anything. It actually just helped me feel focused and a bit stronger.

That being said, it didn’t give me a huge pump. I did try mixing White Heat with my Hemavol though and I feel like that kind of gave me the best of both worlds.

As far as mixability and flavor, it mixes as well as your average pre-workout. I did really enjoy the watermelon flavor though. It’s a pretty decent tasting pre-workout.

Parting Words

I would recommend Redline White Heat if you’re looking for a product to help you stay focused and boost strength. While it doesn’t do too much for pumps, you can mix it with a stim-free pump product to get the best of both worlds.

Absolutely! Arginine can be purchased by itself in an unflavored powder or pills and combined with white heat. Arginine will help with increasing nitric oxide levels and give you a better pump.
