Black Pepper. It’s in my kitchen and it’s probably found in yours too. In the past ten years, I have spent a lot of time looking at the “Supplement Facts” part of supplement labels. After a while you start to expect to see certain ingredients on the labels of weight loss supplements – caffeine, synephrine, yohimbine, green tea, Chromax®, green coffee bean extract, and BioPerine® are just a few of extremely common ingredients. I say “common” but there is a reason why these are so widely used – they work extremely well.

Why do so many supplements contain BioPerine®? What does it do and how does it work? Let’s take a closer look at BioPerine® and some of the studies surrounding this key nutrition supplement.

What is BioPerine® ?

BioPerine® is a patented and clinically proven form of piperine extract which is cultivated from the black pepper fruit. BioPerine® is unique because it has been clinically tested here in the United States. Because of its success in clinical studies, BioPerine® received a patented status.

There are a lot of companies that will include piperine or black pepper extract in their supplements based on the results of the BioPerine® studies. What these companies fail to understand is that taking black pepper will not yield the same benefits of BioPerine®. One of the key functions of BioPerine® is that its bioavailabilty is enhanced for optimal release.

What Does BioPerine® Do?

Clinical studies surrounding BioPerine® have proven that it does two things: increases metabolism and it enhances the bioavailablity of other supplements.

When your body goes into a state of thermogenesis it utilizes the daily food, vitamins and nutrients that you have consumed. BioPerine® kickstarts your body’s thermogenic processes by enhancing the transportation of these nutrients into the blood.[1]

The reason why companies use BioPerine® as a supplement is due to research that shows it has the ability to increase the bioavailabiltiy of other nutritional supplements.[1] When BioPerine® is added to diet supplements, it makes all the ingredients found in that supplement more bioavailable. That means you get more of the benefits of every ingredient because absorption to the blood is maximized. It seems like BioPerine® should be added to all supplements if it makes their ingredients that much more effective.

BioPerine® – Final Thoughts

BioPerine® is a very interesting supplement. According to clinical studies, it makes other ingredients work better. I’m all for maximizing the potential of the supplements I take. Whether it is a fat burner or a pre-workout supplement I want it to work and work well. If it works, I will come back and buy it again. It seems like companies who would want to make their products as good as possible would include BioPerine®.

This is one man’s research based opinion. What really matters is how well BioPerine® works for all of you. Please use our form below to share what your experiences have been with BioPerine®. Please include the product(s) you have used, side effects, benefits, dosage, and let us all know if you think BioPerine® is a good value or not.
