All fat loss supplements are formulated to support not only fat loss but training and diet as well. The way in which your fat loss supplement supports your specific body is dependent upon what ingredients it contains. Fat loss supplements or “fat burners” contain stimulants such as caffeine, green tea, yohimbine and a variety of other natural ingredients.

Avadren is one of the fastest growing fat burners in terms of popularity, so I felt inclined to take a closer look at this supplement. What is it? What ingredients does it have? And, Is there any clinical proof that supports Avadren’s weight loss claims?

What is Avadren?

Avadren is a fat burner that can “boost your metabolism, reduce appetite, slim & sculpt your body” [1]. If you already have you nutrition dialed in, and you are doing your cardio or weight training, then a fat burner will give you the edge and help you reach your ideal weight – but only if it contains the right ingredients!

Avadren Ingredients and Clinical “Proof”

The market for weight loss supplements and fat burners is pretty saturated. Well, that might be an understatement. There are hundreds and hundreds of products out there that make all sorts of wild claims. Compared to the majority of fat burners, what impressed me most about Avadren was their use of only clinically proven weight loss ingredients. Avadren contains Phytosome Green Tea, Irvingia Gabonensis, CoEnzyme Q10, Caffeine, Vitamin C and Olive Leaf Extract. Let’s take a closer look at these ingredients and see if we can find any studies that support their fat loss claims!

GreenSelect Phytosome Green Tea – GreenSelect® Phytosome™ Green Tea is a patented green tea extract combined with soy phospholipids for enhanced bioavailability and efficacy. What I like about this form of green tea is that it is caffeine-free and it has been clinically studied! Take a look at this study:

In a recent clinical study one hundred overweight patients were treated with 150 mg of Greenselect® Phytosome® twice daily (300 mg/day). Parameters such as body weight, body mass index, waistline, total cholesterol, basal glycemia and total triglycerides have been measured at the beginning, after 45 days and after 90 days (end of the study). The average weight loss was of 13.22 pounds in the diet only group and 30.9 pounds in the treated group. Accordingly, relevant results have been reported in terms of body mass index, waistline and blood parameters. Greenselect® Phytosome® provides clinically demonstrated support in weight management [2].

Irvingia Gabonensis (African Mango) – Irvingia Gabonensis is a high-quality extract from the seeds of the mango fruit that grows on the tropical irvingia gabonensis tree. African Mango is getting tons of good press, mostly from Dr.Oz. But even he reallizes that clinical study results speak for themselves. Check out this amazing study:

In a 10 week study, published in 2009 in the journal, Lipids in Health and Disease, 102 healthy overweight men and women were followed for 10 weeks. People were split into either a placebo group or a group that received 350 mg of Irvingia gabonensis. The Irvingia gabonensis was supplied by Gateway Health Alliances Inc.

The results of this study were pretty amazing! Those getting Irvingia Gabonensis lost 28 pounds vs. about 1 pound for those getting the placebo [3].

CoEnzyme Q10 – CoEnzyme Q10, or CoQ10, is vital to the production of energy as food is processed by your body. In regards to weight loss, CoQ10 provides energy to improve the effectiveness of exercise. It does this by increasing oxygen utilization and fat metabolism. Researchers have found that combining Coenzyme Q10 with regular aerobic exercise significantly increases fat release compared with just exercise alone [4].

Caffeine – Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in many things most people consume on a daily basis: coffee, soda, tea, chocolate, and more. Caffeine the most popular fat loss support supplement and workout performance booster. Caffeine is more effective when used with other ingredients that are intended to help you lose fat.

Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), increases the release of adrenaline, increases the use of body fat as fuel and spares glycogen. A study performed in 1995 showed that caffeine helped the body boost its metabolic rate and increase energy expenditure [5]. This allows your body to burn more calories and unwanted fat. There has also been a few studies that indicates use as a pre-workout supplement may lead to increased upper body strength [6, 7, 8].

Vitamin C – Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a powerful antioxidant most well known for supporting immune system health. Your body needs Vitamin C to make collagen, a protein vital to forming skin, ligaments, tendons and even blood vessels.

Olive Leaf Extract – Olive Leaf Extract increases the body’s response to stress. Research has shown that Olive leaf works at the cellular level to measurably strengthen the body’s immune response. A recent study showed that Olive Leaf Extract is just as effective in lowering blood pressure as other medical treatments.

A recent study looked at 20 sets of identical twins with “borderline” hypertension. One member of each twin pair was given tablets containing olive leaf extract, while the other received no supplements but did get lifestyle advice on lowering blood pressure.

After eight weeks, supplement users taking 1,000 mg of olive leaf extract per day showed a substantial dip in their blood pressure and lowered levels of LDL or “bad” cholesterol. The twins who received no supplements showed no significant change in their blood pressure and a smaller improvement in cholesterol.

Final Thoughts on Avadren

Avadren is one of the more popular fat burners available. It contains clinically proven weight loss, appetite suppressing, blood pressure lowering ingredients. Each bottle comes with a 30 day supply. If you are looking for a fat burner that contains a low amount of stimulants, then take a look at Avadren. It should be able to give your body the boost and support it needs to keep you losing fat.

This is one man’s opinion. What really matters is how well it works for all of you. Please use our form below to share what your experiences have been with Avadren. Please include other product(s) you have used, side effects, benefits, dosage, and let us all know if you think Avadren is a good value or not.
