Now that single ingredient supplements have become de rigueur, we’re heading towards a day when taking a pre-workout will consist of combining single ingredient products in a ritual more closely resembling this.

And if you’re looking to boost nitric oxide production, GlycoCarn from Labrada Nutrition is one of the latest single ingredient supplements you can team up with your other pre-workouts.

What is GlycoCarn?

GlycoCarn is compound which consists of glycine propionyl l-carnitine, a combination of the two amino acids glycine and propionyl-L-carnitine.

Getting Pumped With GlycoCarn

GlycoCarn ostensibly improves strength and overall workout performance by stimulating better nitric oxide release. In addition to better flow and oxygen delivery, increased nitric oxide production delays muscle fatigue by reducing lactic acid accumulation.

What’s more, a study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition showed that men supplementing with oral glycine propionyl l-carnitine before exercise had decreased lactic acid accumulation, increased nitric oxide production, and reduced muscle damage.[1]

Each serving of GlycoCarn contains 650 mg of glycine propionyl l-carnitine, and participants in the study consumed 4.5 g of glycine propionyl l-carnitine daily.

My Experience With Stacking GlycoCarn

First I tried 1 serving of GlycoCarn with my pre-workout, and didn’t really notice a big difference in my workout. But when I bumped up my serving to 2 doses, I felt like I had a better pump and more strength.

On chest day, by the time I got to my last set on bench I was able to go up about 15 more pounds than usual. I ended up repping out 250 lb. for about 6 reps, and normally I’m usually getting 235 lb. for 6 reps.

Price and Availability

Most online retailers are selling GlycoCarn for about $12 a bottle. Each container only holds 10 servings, so you’ll probably want to double up and grab a couple bottles if you decide to try it out.

GlycoCarn is a decent value, and still pretty affordable even when purchasing 2 containers. Each serving will end up costing around $1.20.

Gear Up For GlycoCarn

You’ll probably want to double up and take at least 2 servings of GlycoCarn, but this is a well-researched ingredient that stacks well. It’s going to give you a better muscle pump, delay muscle fatigue, and increase strength.

Muscle hypertrophy is all about smashing plateaus and shocking your body into growth. After all, a stronger muscle is a bigger muscle. So while this isn’t a magic pill, it’s a great way to help you reach new PR’s during a bulking phase, and improve your muscle gains.
