Just in time for summer, GNC is releasing Beyond RAW RE-COMP along with a few other products in the RAW line. This is a non-stimulant fat burner, which can actually be pretty versatile. I know several people that use non-stimulant products in addition to their stimulant based pre-workouts or other fat burning supplements.

Something that’s a non-stimulant like this can be taken in between meals to enhance fat burning without subjecting your body to heavy doses of additional stimulants throughout the day. In this review we’ll break down RE-COMP’S ingredients along with everything else you need to know about it.

What Is RE-COMP?

You’ll likely recognize several of the ingredients in RE-COMP. They’re all pretty well supported by research, and shown to help increase metabolic rate and thermogenesis. Two of the ingredients that initially stood out to me were green coffee bean extract and garcinia cambogia.

Green coffee bean extract contains chlorogenic acid. This compound plays an important role in decreasing caloric intake by inhibiting an enzyme that promotes glucose formation in the liver.

One study examined the effects of green coffee bean extract on 16 overweight adults with a BMI greater than 25 for 12 weeks. The subjects supplemented with either 700 or 1050 mg of cholorgenic acid per day. Results of the study revealed the subjects lost an average of 18 pounds, including 4.4% of their overall body fat.[1]

Garcinia Cambogia’s benefits can be attributed to a compound called Hydroxycitric acid or HCA for short. It works by suppressing appetite, helping you to eat less and curb cravings. Additionally, it blocks fat by inhibiting enzymes that your body needs to make fat from carbohydrates

RE-COMP further increases lipolysis and fat burning with brown seaweed and CLA. Brown seaweed contains fucoxanthin, a compound that increases metabolic rate. CLA stands for conjugated linoleic acid, and is a natural type of trans fat found in animal products and dairy.

CLA has been shown in studies to boost muscle growth and decrease body fat. [2]

RE-COMP Side Effects

Since RE-COMP doesn’t have any stimulants, you’re not going to have to worry about getting jittery or any of the other side effects associated with other fat burners and weight loss pills. Just in case, you always want to check the label to make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients.

Is RE-COMP Right For You?

I’ve always been a big fan of non-stimulant fat burners in addition to taking a regular stimulant based fat burner. This just allows you to safely increase release of fatty acids from cells without the risk of overloading your central nervous system.

I would definitely recommend RE-COMP to anyone looking to diet down for the summer, or get in shape for a competition as its ingredients are well-supported by research and shown to help reduce body fat.
