It’s no wonder they were BodyBuilding.com’s 2012 ‘Break Out Brand of the Year’. Beast’s Creature creatine supplement was nominated for 2012’s ‘Creatine Supplement of the Year’. Beast Nutrition is becoming an force to be reckoned with in the supplement industry and for good reason – they develop great products.

In this review, we will take a look at one of those products – Creature.

What is Beast Creature?

Beast Creature is a ‘profession strength’ creatine complex that uses five different forms of creatine. Creature is available in rapid release capsule form and also as a powder. Creatine is one of the only dietary supplements that definitively improves athletic performance, according to the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

According to BeastSports.com, “Creatine fuels intense weight training and endurance activities to push harder, go faster, and recover quicker. In the process, it stimulates lean muscle mass, acts as a support system to prevent against muscle breakdown, and aids in muscle recovery.”[1] It accomplishes this with its unique blend of 5 different types of creatine.

Beast Creature’s Creatine Blend

When Beast Nutrition set out to develop Creature, they wanted to utilize the latest research and best creatine available. Creature contains a blend of Creapure®, Creatine MagnaPower® , Creatine AKG, Creatine Anhydrous and Crea-Trona®. Some of these different types of creatine might not be familiar to you so lets take a quick second and break them down.

Creapure® – Creapure® Creatine Monohydrate is one of the purest, most sought after forms of creatine monohydrate available. The truth is margins in creatine supplements aren’t very good and some supplement companies choose to go the low-cost route and get the cheapest creatine they can. This leads to a variety of quality issues that are passed on to the consumer. Creapure Creatine Monohydrate is the only form of creatine monohydrate produced using a unique patented process (U.S. patent 5,719,319) which guarantees the highest purity, and potency.

Creatine MagnaPower® – Creatine MagnaPower®, or magnesium creatine chelate, is creatine that has been bound to magnesium. Magnesium is an electrolyte and is needed to drive the conversion of creatine into ATP. Magnesium creatine chelate has been shown through research to be more effective then creatine monohydrate in enhancing lean muscle mass, increasing strength and power, and supporting energy levels.

Creatine AKG – Creatine AKG (alpha ketoglutarate) is 1 molecule of alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) that has been chemically bonded to 2 molecules of creatine to improve the absorption and uptake of creatine to your muscles. Creatine monohydrate can be converted into creatinine in the gut, where it provides no muscle building or recovery benefits. AKG is readily absorbed by the intestines, which eliminates the possibility of gastrointestinal problems, as well as muscle cells.

Creatine Anhydrous – Creatine anhydrous is creatine monohydrate that has had the water molecule removed. Creatine anhydrous provides approximately 6% more pure creatine per serving compared to creation monohydrate.

Crea-Trona® – Crea-Trona® has been shown in studies to deliver more Creatine to muscles after just 4 weeks of use compared to other forms of Creatine. It is able to deliver more creatine to the muscle cells due to its ability to regulate pH levels in the muscles. Like Creatine AKG, Crea-Trona® protects the creatine from converting into creatinine in your stomach.
